Should the federal government do more to save the environment?
I believe that the Federal Government could put a lot more effort into saving the environment. It most likely is not considered a top priority at the moment because the way we are treating the environment now will have a greater impact on future generations than on us today. However, this doesn't mean that it is not a major issue. The United States is currently ranked second in the amount of carbon dioxide emissions produced out of any country on earth. This could be changed if the Federal Government decided to become more involved and establish laws and regulations that require more people to become eco-friendly.

I agree with what you are saying 100%! We need to take care of the earth we live on and I think that the federal government should be doing more to get involved.
ReplyDeleteYes Deirdre i knew you would have input on something like this and i completely agree with you. I feel like everyone always makes saving our environment a huge deal but our government never actually puts the effort out to make a difference. If our government makes the decision to raise awareness surrounding topics such as carbon dioxide emissions the changes that we need for our world could actually be possible.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your opinion that the government needs to do more to protect the environment. At this point I feel as though the government has raised awareness of the issue but I don't believe that does any good unless they are to act on it and do something to help with this problem.
ReplyDeleteThe government is putting restrictions on alot of things to reduce the carbon emissions. Alot of it just isn't well known news because bigger problems have arised like the economy
ReplyDeleteI agree with what your saying. America really needs take a second glance at what kind of resources were using and if we destroy it can we fix it. I also think most Americans really take advantage of the air we breath and if we continue this cycle it may not be the same ever again.
ReplyDeleteI know that the government has put restrictions on a lot of things to reduce carbon emissions, but they aren't enforcing these restrictions which makes them very ineffective. If the government put more effort into making sure these restrictions are followed then we would be able to see an evident change in the impact we as a country are having on our atmosphere. Although you bring up a good point that there are other problems the government is worried about such as the economy, what necessarily ranks them as bigger problems than that of our depleting atmosphere? They may seem more urgent, but that doesn't mean the government should completely disregard their efforts for other issues. So I believe that ultimately the government is not doing its part in helping better our environment.
